In a quiet town near the sea, there lived a boy named Haru. Every night, he climbed to the rooftop of his small house and looked at the stars.
Haru had a dream. He wanted to become an astronaut.
But there was a problem.
Haru was afraid of heights.
One evening, while he was watching the sky, he saw something strange. A small blue light was floating above the town. It moved slowly, like it was searching for something.
Suddenly, the light flew toward him and stopped right in front of his face.
“Are you the one who keeps looking at the stars?” a tiny voice asked.
Haru almost fell backward. “Y-Yes… I am.”
“I am Luma,” the light said. “I come from a planet far away. We need someone brave to help us.”
“Brave?” Haru whispered. “I’m not brave. I’m scared of heights.”
Luma glowed brighter. “Being brave doesn’t mean you are not scared. It means you try even when you are scared.”
Haru looked at the edge of the rooftop. His legs were shaking.
Then he looked at the sky — wide, dark, and full of stars.
He took one small step forward.
“I’ll try,” he said.
At that moment, the blue light surrounded him, and the rooftop disappeared. Haru found himself floating gently above the Earth. The fear was still there, but it felt smaller.
And for the first time in his life, Haru smiled at the stars — not from below, but from among them.
