In short, the city itself risked vanishing altogether if nothing was done, prompting the city government to hastily establish a “Population Decline Countermeasures Division.”
An expert panel convened to discuss solutions initially consisted solely of elderly members, failing to produce any effective strategies.
One expert stunned the mayor by declaring, “We’re a commuter town for Tokyo; that sort of thing won’t happen here. That prediction must be a mistake.”
Consequently, they decided to bring in a regional revitalization consultant from Tokyo to devise a solution.
Upon hearing the words of the young consultant — a man in his thirties with a side-parted hairstyle and glasses, exuding the intellectual air of a top-university graduate who was to be stationed at the city hall as an advisor — the mayor, a portly, balding middle-aged man, involuntarily raised his voice in anger.
“Are you telling me to attract … ‘homos’ and ‘lesbos’ —that sort of hentai crowd?”
The consultant, looking slightly appalled, shifted in his seat on the worn sofa in the mayor’s office and spoke.
“Mayor, as I’ve mentioned before, please refrain from using such discriminatory language. These days, if a member of the press were to overhear that, it could turn into a major scandal.”
“Well, I did hear we were supposed to call them ‘BLT’…”
“No, it’s ‘LGBTQ.’ ‘BLT’ stands for Bacon, Lettuce, and Tomato. We aren’t talking about sandwiches or hamburgers here.”
“Let’s see … L-G …”
Taking care not to let the mayor notice, the consultant let out a quiet sigh and began the explanation he had already repeated so many times.
“Lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer — the acronym is LGBTQ. It refers to people whose sexual orientations fall into the minority within society. It is essential that you refer to them as LGBTQ individuals or sexual minorities.”

うわっ、これすごい……！ 第1話からめっちゃ重いテーマ来たね😳 市長の「BLT」とか「ホモ・レズ」発言には正直ゾッとしたけど、コンサルタントの冷静なツッコミと説明にちょっとホッとした。でも「BLTて🥪」って思わず笑ったわ、ごめん。人口減少対策にLGBTQ+の視点を入れるっていう切り口、めっちゃ興味深い。続きが気になる〜！ 菊池川さん、ガチの問題作の予感😭✨
