水の魔女セレン(瑟伦)

The Red Field: A Farewell and a VowA young girl cried out, “Help me!” I followed her through the cold morning dew. Soon, we arrived at a field of red spider lilies. A cat was lying on the ground among the bright flowers.

I knelt beside the cat and focused my power into my hands. “It must have swallowed a flower…” I whispered. I poured all my magical energy into the cat, but it was too late. I felt the cat’s body grow cold, and it stopped breathing.

”I am so sorry. I did everything I could,” I said. The girl began to cry. At that moment, a soft light rose from the cat’s body. I heard a gentle “Meow,” as if the cat was thanking the girl.

The girl stopped crying and reached out to the light. “Thank you for trying to save my family,” she said quietly. I made a new promise to myself: I will study healing magic harder so that I can save lives next time.

”Is it my turn yet?” Karen, the black cat, asked. In the early morning light, the field was filled with magic. A glimmer of hope and miracles remained in the girl’s eyes.

●全訳：赤い花畑：別れと誓い●

「助けて！」という少女の叫び声が聞こえました。私は冷たい朝露の中、彼女の後を追いました。やがて、一面に赤い彼岸花が咲く花畑に到着しました。鮮やかな花々の中に、一匹の猫が倒れていました。

私は猫のそばにひざまずき、掌に力を集中させました。「花を飲み込んでしまったのね……」私は囁きました。全魔力を猫に注ぎ込みましたが、手遅れでした。猫の体が冷たくなり、息を引き取るのを感じました。

「ごめんなさい。全力を尽くしたけれど……」私が言うと、少女は泣き始めました。その時、猫の体から柔らかい光が立ち上がりました。まるで猫が少女に感謝しているかのように、優しい「ニャー」という鳴き声が聞こえました。

少女は泣き止み、その光に手を伸ばしました。「私の家族を救おうとしてくれてありがとう」と彼女は静かに言いました。私は自分自身に新しい約束をしました。次は命を救えるように、治癒魔法をもっと一生懸命勉強しよう、と。

「俺の出番はまだか？」と黒猫のカレンが尋ねました。早朝の光の中で、花畑は魔力に満ちていました。少女の瞳には、希望と奇跡の輝きが残っていました。
