The Lost Light of Olympia: Remembering Mion

I woke up to the smell of olive oil. I was in ancient Greece, where the Olympic Games were being held. I used my magic to transform into a man because women were not allowed to enter the stadium. While walking, I looked up at the moon and remembered my past as the Goddess Selene.

In the stadium, I saw a boy looking at the moon. He asked, “Is that Selene? Where is Endymion?” My heart tightened at those words. I remembered Mion, the person I loved most. We had so many happy memories together, such as drinking tea at a cafe or laughing at a Japanese inn.

However, a tragedy happened on “that night.” I was crossing the sky as usual and felt something strange, but I ignored it. I didn’t think it would be a disaster. Mion was killed by the villagers while I was away. If I had noticed the danger, he would still be with me. The games continued, but my time has stopped since that night.
