Christmas Miracle: The Water Witch and the PendantI am the Water Witch, a traveler. Today is Christmas Eve. I was flying over a city decorated with colorful lights. In the center of the city, there was a huge, beautiful Christmas tree.
Suddenly, I saw Santa Claus. He was busy delivering presents to children. He told me that he was running out of time and needed my help.
“I use magic to change these items into whatever the children want,” he explained. “But I have so many houses to visit. Could you please help me?”
Usually, witches are feared as people who bring curses. However, I hate hurting others because I know the pain of prejudice. So, I decided to help him.
We rode his sleigh, which moved as smoothly as if it were sliding on water. At his house, small elves looked at me and left quickly. They were probably afraid of a witch.
Santa gave me a large sack and said, “This is the last one. Let’s hurry!”
We flew through the night sky at a tremendous speed. Following Santa’s directions, I delivered presents one after another. Sometimes, I used my magic to tuck children back into their beds. Instead of a curse, I was giving them hope.
When we finished, Santa gave me a small glass pendant with a clear drop of water inside.
“This will wash away the darkness in your heart when you are in trouble,” he said with a kind smile.
As the sun began to rise, Santa disappeared into the light.
“Santa’s power is amazing…” I whispered.
I landed in the central square. I saw a young couple walking happily, and suddenly, tears fell from my eyes. I thought I would never cry again. I lost my boyfriend in the past, and I believed it was my fault.
I found an inn and sat on the bed. Memories of him flashed back in my mind—sharing ice cream and flying on a broom together.
“It’s all my fault,” I sobbed, clutching the pendant.
”It is not your fault.”
“What?” I looked up. A man wrapped in soft white light was standing there. It was him. I jumped into his arms.
”I am so sorry. Because of me, you were…”
“No,” he interrupted, wiping my tears. “It was not your fault. The people who hurt me were wrong. You have not hurt anyone. Just like tonight, you have the power to save people.”
I continued to cry in his arms, feeling his warmth one last time.
