Tragedy on Mt. Bracken: The Herb Witch’s TearsI went to Mt. Bracken to help the Fire Witch find her boyfriend. On this mountain, magic cannot be used at all. While searching, the Star Witch found the boyfriend lying on the ground. He was bleeding from a stab wound.

I checked the belongings and alibis of the three witches. The Herb Witch claimed she was washing dishes until 11:45 PM. However, I found a strange clue. There was herb powder not only on the outside of the boyfriend’s clothes but also on the inside.

”You didn’t just carry him,” I said to the Herb Witch with a trembling voice. “If you had only carried him, the powder would be on the outside. But it was inside his clothes. This means you hugged him tightly right after you stabbed him.” She started to cry and confessed that she was jealous of the happy couple because she had lost her own love long ago.

Then, a terrible thing happened. Because of the “Witch’s Curse,” she turned into particles of light and disappeared. A witch is not allowed to kill anyone; if they try, they lose their own lives. I hugged her until the very end, feeling her deep sadness.　

●全訳：ブラッケン山の悲劇：香草の魔女の涙●

私は炎の魔女の彼氏を探す手伝いをするため、ブラッケン山へ向かいました。この山では、魔法は一切使えません。捜索中、星の魔女が地面に倒れている彼氏を見つけました。彼は刺し傷から血を流していました。

私は3人の魔女の持ち物とアリバイをチェックしました。香草の魔女は午後11時45分まで皿洗いをしていたと主張しました。しかし、私は奇妙な手がかりを見つけました。彼氏の服の外側だけでなく、「内側」にも香草の粉が付着していたのです。

「あなたはただ彼を運んだだけじゃないわね」私は震える声で香草の魔女に言いました。「もし運んだだけなら、粉は外側に付くはず。でも服の内側にまで入っていた。これは、あなたが彼を刺した直後、強く抱きしめたことを意味しているわ」彼女は泣き出し、ずっと前に愛する人を失っていたため、幸せな二人を見て嫉妬してしまったのだと自白しました。

その時、恐ろしいことが起きました。「魔女の呪い」により、彼女は光の塵となって消えてしまったのです。魔女は人を殺すことは許されず、もしそうしようとすれば、自らの命を失うのです。私は彼女の深い悲しみを感じながら、最期まで彼女を抱きしめました。
