The Cold Cocoa: The Truth in the TrashI was enjoying cocoa at a cafe when a woman rushed in. She asked me to deliver some documents to her company, but she soon passed away. A doctor said, “She could have survived if she had taken her medicine.”

At her office, I found a bottle of medicine deep inside a trash can. It was almost full. I also noticed a dent on the woman’s desk, which matched the shape of a heavy document box. In her emails, her boss, d, had told her, “Taking medicine is just a sign of weakness.”

”You threw away her medicine,” I said to d. “You gave her too much work to do, and everyone else just watched.” d’s fingerprints were on the medicine bottle, and security cameras showed d touching the woman’s desk. d confessed that she was jealous of the woman and wanted to prove that she was the best employee. I returned to the street, but my cocoa had already become cold.
