The Light in the Tunnel: Farewell to a Best FriendWe were in a car heading to a tourist spot. Suddenly, a loud metallic sound echoed through the tunnel. The ceiling began to collapse! I immediately used my defensive magic to protect Kurona and Karen.

I guided many people to the emergency exit, but the situation was too dangerous. Karen tried to shield me until the very end. In my arms, he quietly passed away. “Karen… I will never let go of the pendant you gave me,” I cried. My heart felt like it was breaking.

As I looked at the survivors, I felt both sadness and determination. “Karen, I will never forget your courage and kindness.” I also thought about the people I couldn’t save. “I’m sorry… but I will continue to protect my family and others.”

When we finally went outside, the sunset was burning red in the sky. In that light, I made a promise to Karen: “I will live for both of us, and I will protect the smiles of the people I love.”
