Light in the Silence: The School IncidentWhile I was doing housework, Karen shouted, “Seren! The crystal is glowing red!” I immediately poured my magical energy into it and heard Kurona’s voice from somewhere far away. “Mother! Help me!”

I rushed to the school. The place, which is usually noisy and bright, was filled with an eerie silence. Students were frozen with fear near the windows. A teacher explained in a trembling voice, “A man with a knife has broken into the school!”

”Leave it to me!” I said. I created a barricade in front of the door and used a magic circle to open a safe path for the students. I chased the intruder and captured him using my magic. Outside, the police arrived and thanked me for my help.

I ran to Kurona. “Mother, I’m okay! Everyone is gathered in the schoolyard now,” she said. I held her small hand and couldn’t stop crying. Looking at the students’ smiles, I realized that I did my best as both a mother and a witch. No matter how much fear we feel, love is stronger than anything else.

私はクロナのもとへ駆け寄りました。「お母さん、大丈夫だよ！みんな今は校庭に集まっているから」と彼女は言いました。私は彼女の小さな手を握り、涙を止めることができませんでした。生徒たちの笑顔を見て、私は母として、そして魔女として最善を尽くしたのだと実感しました。どれほど恐怖を感じても、愛は何よりも強いのです。
