The Witch Detective: The Case of the Cursed PaintingA man rushed to me and cried, “A painting has been stolen from the museum!” The painting was rumored to be cursed, and the person who stole it died shortly after. The cause of death was a toxic substance.

The police found the painting, and Officer A said, “The same poison was found in the thief’s body and on the painting.” However, I noticed something strange. There were two different types of chemicals. One was a “pigment remover” used by the security guard, which was not deadly. The other was a “nerve gas” that killed the thief.

I asked Officer A, “The laboratory result has not been released yet. How did you know the poisons were the same before the report?” The officer became silent. He had hidden a gas capsule inside the painting to stop thieves and protect his career. I pointed at him and shouted, “There is no curse! You killed him to protect your reputation!” Even if we want to protect something, we must not sacrifice a human life.
