The Collapsing Building: A Miracle and a ShadowWe were in an office for a business meeting. Suddenly, the air shook, and glass and documents scattered everywhere. The building was collapsing! I felt the danger immediately and created a magic circle. “Run this way!” I shouted to the people in the office.

Many people escaped through the magic circle. However, a part of the building crashed down in front of those who were trying to reach the rooftop. I was almost crushed by the debris and couldn’t move. At that moment, I heard a cold voice from behind. “How miserable you look, Seren. Ufufu…”

When I woke up, I was in a hospital bed. Kurona was crying beside me. My curse as a witch had miraculously saved my life. On the desk, there was a letter of thanks from a survivor. “I thought I was going to die, but I believed in you. Thank you, Great Witch.”

I felt grateful, but my heart was filled with sadness for those I couldn’t save. Later, a nurse told me that there were no other survivors in that building except for the people I had helped.

私達は打ち合わせのためにオフィスにいました。突然、空気が震え、ガラスや書類がいたるところに飛び散りました。ビルが崩壊していたのです！私はすぐに危険を感じ、魔法陣を作りました。「こっちへ逃げて！」私はオフィスにいた人々に叫びました。

多くの人々が魔法陣を通って脱出しました。しかし、屋上へ行こうとしていた人々の前で、建物の一部が崩れ落ちました。私は瓦礫に押しつぶされそうになり、身動きが取れませんでした。その時、背後から冷たい声が聞こえました。「無様ね、セレン。ウフフフ……」

目が覚めると、私は病院のベッドにいました。クロナが私のそばで泣いていました。魔女としての呪いが、奇跡的に私の命を救ったのです。机の上には、生存者からの感謝の手紙が置かれていました。「もうだめだと思いましたが、あなたを信じてよかったです。ありがとう、魔女様」

感謝の気持ちはありましたが、救えなかった人々のことを思うと、私の心は悲しみでいっぱいになりました。後で看護師から、私が助けた人々以外に、そのビルでの生存者はいなかったと聞かされました。
