The Sunken Paradise: Terror in the MaldivesRain was falling in the dark forest. The air smelled of wet soil and the rotten sea. “Is the gate connected?” I asked. Kurona replied, “Yes, but be careful. The coordinates might be wrong.”

In the darkness, we found an old mansion. Inside, a hotel boy was standing with a crazy smile. “Welcome… please enjoy your stay,” he whispered in an eerie voice. Suddenly, a red shadow began to crawl on the wall. “Kurona, get back!” I shouted.

A knife flew toward Kurona’s shoulder, but I protected her and jumped out of the window into the rainy forest. We ran toward the sea. This was the Maldives in 2100, which should have been under the water already. Evil spirits were floating on the dark red surface of the sea.

I used my magic to open a gate. As we jumped into the light, I saw red eyes glowing in the dark forest. When we woke up in a safe place, Kurona asked, “Where are we?”

“We are safe now,” I told her. I could still hear the laughter of the spirits, but I promised myself again: I will protect Kurona no matter what happens.

●全訳：沈みゆく楽園：モルディブの恐怖●

夜の森に雨が降り注いでいました。空気は湿った土と腐った海の匂いがしました。「ゲートは繋がっている？」私は尋ねました。クロナは「うん、でも気をつけて。座標がズレているかもしれない」と答えました。

闇の中に、古い屋敷を見つけました。中では、ホテルボーイが狂気じみた笑顔で立っていました。「いらっしゃいませ……ごゆっくりどうぞ」彼は不気味な声で囁きました。突然、赤い影が壁を這い始めました。「クロナ、下がりなさい！」私は叫びました。

ナイフがクロナの肩に向かって飛んできましたが、私は彼女を守り、窓を破って雨の森へと飛び出しました。私達は海の方へ走りました。ここは2100年のモルディブで、本来ならすでに水没しているはずの場所でした。悪霊たちが赤黒い海面に漂っていました。

私は魔法を使ってゲートを開きました。光の中に飛び込むとき、森の闇の中で赤い目が光るのが見えました。安全な場所で目が覚めたとき、クロナは「ここ、どこ……？」と尋ねました。

「もう大丈夫よ」私は彼女に言いました。悪霊たちの笑い声がまだ聞こえるようでしたが、私は再び自分に誓いました。何が起きても、絶対にクロナを守る、と。
